Parks and Recreation Director, John Buckley, was authorized to place bike trail signs along heavily traveled roads such as Johanna Boulevard, County Roads E2 and F, etc., to alert motorists to bicyclists. Cindy Nelson, a college student, will work free of charge as an intern in the Parks and Recreation Department this summer. Reports were given of extensive damage to Perry Park, the terrain east of Perrk-Park, and to the Pedestrian Trail - Plenpaul Avenue area by motorized vehicles. This matter was referred to Police Chief Sexton and the Public Safety Committee for their recommendations to the Council. Robert E. Faricy was appointed Village Prosecutor commencing May 7, 1974, for the remainder of this year. Village Council Meeting 13 May 1974 Ordinance No. 178 was approved amending ordinance No. 92, the intoxicating liquor ordinance. Certain provisions were changed relating to minors, by adding provisions concerning evacuation of licensed premises and consumption after hours, and by increasing the maximum fine assessable in the penalty provision. Engineer Lund reported that Suburban Engineering has made four connections to the village sanitary sewer' at the Arden Manor Mobile Home Park without having the sewer lines tested as required. These sewer I ines are not now in use. Concern was voiced that the village regulation prohibiting storm water run-off draining into the sanitary sewers wasn't being strictly adhered to. Treasurer O'Kelly reported investments of $1001000 on May 2, 1974, for 30 days @ 10.95% interest and $110,000 on May 10, 1974, for 90 days @ 10.95% at the First National Bank of St. Paul. The final plat of Nursery Hill was approved subject to many stipulations. Approval was given to issue a building permit for a 398 sq, ft. addition to the Proto Sheet Metal Building , on Connelly Avenue.
