City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective February 29,2016 <br />Full-time Employee Means an employee rwho has successfully <br />completed the required training period and is <br />scheduled for thatnumber <br />of hours which make up the regularly scheduled <br />weekly or monthly period of service in the class. <br />Part-time Employee Any employee that works less than 40 hours per <br />week. <br />Seasonal Employee Employees who work only part of the year (100 <br />days or less) to conduct seasonal work. Seasonal <br />employee may be assigned to work a full-time or <br />part-time schedule. Seasonal employees do not <br />earn benefits or credit for seniority. In order to <br />comply with health care reform law while avoiding <br />penalties, part-time employees will be scheduled <br />with business needs and in a manner that ensures <br />positions retain part-time status as intended or, in <br />some rare instances, may be offered health <br />insurance to comply with federal health care <br />reform laws and regulations while avoiding <br />associated penalties. <br />Service Credit The specified period of time required for an <br />employee to be eligible for benefits. <br />Temporary Employee Employees who work in temporary positions. <br />Temporary jobs might have a defined start and <br />end date or may be for the duration of a specific <br />project. Temporary employees may be assigned to <br />work a full-time or part-time schedule. Temporary <br />employees do not earn benefits or credit for <br />seniority.
