For tear down we would incur a <br /> $285.00 one time fee for a 20 yard dumpster.Tear down does not factor in labor <br /> costs. <br /> (3) OPTION C: Build a small portable building that can be stored off site during the off <br /> season and brought in during the rink season. <br /> This option is explained in Option C under Freeway and Hazelnut Parks. <br /> The estimated annual cost for this option would be a one time fee of$5,000 (does <br /> not include labor) plus a one time electrical relocation fee of $1,423.00. We <br /> would also incur a $285.00 one time fee for a 20 yard dumpster. These figures <br /> do not factor in building or tear down labor costs. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends removing the warming house building at Valentine Park and to maintain the <br /> rink without staffing into the future for the following reasons: <br /> (1) Attendance is always low at this site and continues to decline. <br /> (2) The building continues to flood every spring, causing maintenance issues. <br /> • (3) The amount of salary we save by closing the warming house at Valentine Park could <br /> be used to supplement the rental of mobile units at Hazelnut Park and Freeway Park. <br /> Staff further recommends that mobile units be utilized at Freeway Park and Hazelnut Park for the <br /> following reasons: <br /> (1) The buildings are in need of major repairs <br /> (2) The buildings are only utilized three months out of the year. <br /> (3) The buildings are not aesthetically pleasing. <br /> At a minimum, staff recommends that Freeway Park and Hazelnut Park have major repairs done <br /> to the buildings before next season. <br /> \\Metro-inet.us\ArdenHills\PR&PW\Recreation\MEMOS\Memo to Cadmin warming housesWDOC <br /> • <br />
