ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – JANUARY 9, 2017 4 <br /> <br />Mayor Grant stated under the Public Hearing section, citizens would have an opportunity to <br />discuss ideas regarding the TCAAP development. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant opened the public hearing at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />With no one coming forward to speak, Mayor Grant closed the public hearing at 7:31 p.m. <br /> <br />B. Consider Approval of Liquor License Application – Nutmeg Brewery <br /> <br />City Clerk Hanson reported Bidhipur Brewing Company has requested an On-Sale Wine and <br />Sunday liquor license for their new restaurant, Nutmeg Brewery. Nutmeg Brewery is located at <br />3673 Lexington Avenue North, Arden Hills, Minnesota. Staff is in receipt of all the necessary <br />paperwork and associated fees, and a background check has been successfully completed by the <br />Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office. <br /> <br />City Clerk Hanson explained all required information will be submitted to the Minnesota <br />Department of Public Safety Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement upon approval of the license by <br />the City Council. It should be noted that the business is currently in the process of remodeling, so <br />the City liquor license will not be formally issued until a successful fire inspection has been <br />completed. Staff recommended the Council hold a public hearing regarding an On-Sale Wine and <br />Sunday liquor license for Nutmeg Brewery, located at 3673 Lexington Avenue North, Arden <br />Hills, Minnesota and consider approval of the issuance of an On-Sale and Sunday liquor license <br />for Nutmeg Brewery, located at 3673 Lexington Avenue North, Arden Hills, Minnesota, <br />contingent upon a satisfactory fire inspection. <br /> <br />Councilmember Scott asked for clarification relating to the type of liquor license being issued. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant stated this type of license is not an off-sale liquor license, such as the license issued <br />to Cub Discount Liquor. <br /> <br />City Clerk Hanson concurred and indicated the license would be for consumption on the <br />premises only, including Sundays. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant opened the public hearing at 7:32 p.m. <br /> <br />With no one coming forward to speak, Mayor Grant closed the public hearing at 7:33 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a <br />motion to approve the issuance of an On-Sale and Sunday Liquor License for <br />Nutmeg Brewery, located at 3673 Lexington Avenue North in Arden Hills, <br />contingent upon a satisfactory fire inspection.
