Relative Experience / References / 20 <br />A Proposal to Provide a 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update for the City of Arden Hills <br />City of Mahtomedi, MN <br />WSB assisted in the completion of a major update to the <br />City of Mahtomedi’s Comprehensive Plan in collaboration <br />with City staff and Sanders Wacker Bergly, Inc., Kelsey <br />Johnson’s former employer during the Plan Update. <br />The Plan identifies where the City has been, where the <br />City is now, and where the City seems to be heading. <br />It provides goals, objectives, policies, and plans to <br />guide the City in getting to where it wants to be. The <br />Comprehensive Plan brought together various elements <br />of Mahtomedi into a comprehensive “big picture” plan <br />that provides a basic framework to guide other planning <br />efforts in the City and to guide the relationship between <br />the City and the metropolitan region. The City promoted <br />public participation throughout the planning process, <br />which included 14 meetings with a Citizens Advisory <br />Committee that included the Planning Commission <br />and interested members of the City Council and City <br />Staff, two sustainability and Natural Step Framework <br />seminars in association with Sustainability Associates, <br />and one community public open house. The Mahtomedi <br />Comprehensive Plan emphasizes the City’s desire <br />to maintain (and enhance) its “small town” character. <br />Additionally, it emphasizes the City’s desire to become a <br />sustainable community, meeting the needs of the present <br />generation without compromising the ability of future <br />generations to meet their needs. <br />City of Medina, MN <br />WSB developed the City of Medina’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan with the <br />assistance of City staff and the Planning Commission. WSB completed <br />all Metropolitan Council’s required elements, including affordable <br />housing, land use, transportation, sanitary sewer, water supply, and <br />surface water resource management. WSB conducted draft land use <br />map public meetings at which over 60 residents attended.
