The Interstate 694 sign is 102 square feet in size with a height of 35 feet. <br />This sign was approved through the Sign Standard Adjustment process in Planning Case 11-002. <br /> <br />The applicant is proposing to remove the existing Northwoods Drive monument sign and the <br />Interstate 694 pole sign. One new monument sign would be constructed on Northwoods Drive. <br />This monument sign would have an area of 41 square feet and a height of 6 feet – 7 inches. <br /> <br /> <br />Permitted <br />(District 7) Proposed <br />Sign Copy Area 25 sq. ft. 41 sq. ft. <br />Height 8 ft. 6 ft. – 7 in. <br /> <br />B. Wall Signage – Flexibility Requested <br /> <br />Properties in Sign District 7 are permitted 45 square feet of wall signage. The applicant has <br />proposed four wall signs for the hotel, one on each side of the building. The wall sign on the <br />south elevation would have an area of 457 square feet. The proposed signs on the remaining <br />three elevations would each measure approximately 114 square feet in area. The total amount of <br />wall signage proposed is 799.3 square feet. <br /> <br /> <br />Permitted <br />(District 7) Proposed <br />Sign Copy Area 45 sq. ft. 799.3 sq. ft. <br /> <br />C. Sign Standard Adjustments <br /> <br />Section 1260.01 of the Sign Code permits adjustments to sign height, number, type, lighting, <br />area, and/or location through the Site Plan Review or PUD process if criteria number 1 or 2 is <br />met and the required criteria number 3 is met. The criteria are as follows: <br /> <br />1. There are site conditions which require a sign adjustment to allow the sign to be <br />reasonably visible from a street immediately adjacent to the site; or, <br /> <br />2. The sign adjustment will allow a sign of exceptional design or a style that will enhance the <br />area or that is more consistent with the architecture and design of the site; and, <br /> <br />3. The sign adjustment will not result in a sign that is inconsistent with the purpose of the <br />zoning district in which the property is located or the current land use. <br />
