A number of formatting and grammatical errors were identified by <br />the City Council and have been revised and incorporated into the draft Comprehensive Plan. A <br />few substantive changes were recommended to the Land Use Map, the Housing Chapter, the Parks <br />and Recreation Chapter, and the Transportation Chapter. These changes were reviewed with the <br />Planning Commission during their March 7 meeting. The Economic Development Committee <br />reviewed the Land Use and Economic Development Chapters during their March 7 meeting. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of the February 20 Work Session, the City Council directed WSB and City Staff <br />to investigate what options are available to meet the housing requirements for the 51% to 80% area <br />median income (AMI) band include the City’s past use of affordable housing tools and provide <br />that information at the March 19 Work Session. <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Review the draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan and provide recommendations on any changes. <br />Review the option to provide adequate land for opportunities to develop housing within the 51% <br />to 80% of area median income (AMI) band and provide recommendations of the most appropriate <br />land use designations to achieve this requirement. <br /> <br />Summary <br /> <br />Housing for the 51% to 80% AMI Band <br />The Metropolitan Council has two options to meet a communities Affordable Housing Need <br />Allocation: <br />• Option 1: Guide sufficient land at minimum residential densities of 8 units/acre. <br />• Option 2: Guide sufficient land at minimum residential densities of:
