If any issues are identifi ed,
they will be remedied prior to Go-Live.
During the week of Go-Live, WSB will be on-site to hold
two training sessions. WSB will also take steps to ensure
Bryan is available to answer all questions; both on site
and remotely.
Task 5: Implement ArcGIS Online
WSB will work with the City to implement an ArcGIS
for the City. The City has the option to maintain their
existing ArcGIS Desktop license(s) to allow them to
utilize ArcGIS Online with as many users as the current
number of Desktop licenses that the City is paying
annual maintenance for. Staff can use ArcGIS Online
to further extend the capabilities of WSB’s hosted GIS
system to include:
·Esri Collector for ArcGIS: mobile tablet/phone based
GPS/GIS data collection
·Esri Maps for Offi ce
·Esri Web App templates
·Esri public engagement tools
The City may need to invest in updated hardware
to support mobile GIS data collection. This typically
involves purchasing a tablet and a bluetooth GPS
receiver. WSB recommends Apple iPads or Windows
Surface Pros for tablets ($800). WSB also recommends
the City invest in a Trimble R1 receiver ($2,500) to allow
for sub-meter accuracy for data collection. The cost for
additional hardware is not included in this proposal.
Task 3: System Implementation
WSB will implement the standard DataLink web application
platform on WSB’s cloud. The software and applications
will be hosted on WSB’s cloud built upon Amazon’s Web
Services (AWS) in Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
WSB will provide the necessary bandwidth to access the
DataLink application and services.
WSB will install and confi gure all required software,
virtual hardware, database services, and application
services. The hosted solution will rely on WSB and Esri
Enterprise GIS software including:
·WSB DataLink
·Esri ArcGIS Online
WSB will manage DataLink’s application security through
a single user account for all City staff. Users of the
DataLink Work Orders add-on will receive individual
named user logins. WSB will also manage secure access
to the DataLink application via HTTPS/SSL encryption.
All ArcGIS server services will be secured and not
accessible outside of DataLink unless specifi cally
requested by the City.
Task 4: User Acceptance Testing and Go-
Live Support
Once the system is implemented, WSB will hold a
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) session to review the
Schedule
WSB is ready to proceed with this work plan within 30 days of authorization. The timeline showed
above will be adjusted once the WSB and the City have agreed upon a project kickoff date.
A Proposal to Provide GIS Services to the City of Arden Hills
