<br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this _____ day of ________, 2019 between the <br />City of Arden Hills, State of Minnesota, (hereinafter referred to as “City”) and Northstar <br />Inspection Services, Inc. <br /> <br />It is mutually agreed by and between City and Northstar Inspection Services, Inc as follows: <br /> <br />I. SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />1. Northstar Inspection Services Inc. agrees to provide building, mechanical, and plumbing <br />inspection services for State Projects within the City. <br /> <br />2. The standard of performance and method of providing building inspection services shall <br />be determined by Northstar Inspection Services, Inc. upon consultation with the City. <br /> <br />3. The City will receive all applications for building, mechanical, and plumbing permits for <br />projects within its boundaries. Applications will then be forwarded to Northstar Inspection <br />Services Inc. who shall review the application materials for conformance to applicable building, <br />plumbing, and mechanical, zoning, and fire codes. Northstar Inspection Services Inc. shall be <br />responsible for enforcing dimensional requirements of the zoning code. Other zoning code <br />issues such as land use and drainage, shall be referred to City staff for consultation. <br /> <br />4. Northstar Inspection Services Inc. shall provide necessary plan check services as <br />requested by the City. <br /> <br />5. The City will be responsible for making sure the Contractor has the proper licenses (city <br />and/or state) in place prior to issuance of any building, mechanical, or plumbing permits. <br /> <br />6. Northstar Inspection Services, Inc. shall provide a job site inspection on projects under <br />permit as required by the MN State Building Code and under the City Zoning Code upon request <br />of City Staff. Daily inspections shall be logged by Northstar Inspection Services Inc. in a <br />manner established by the City. Inspection times shall be established between Northstar <br />Inspection Services, Inc., property owners, and the City: requests for inspection shall, to the <br />extent possible, be performed within 24 hours of the request for inspection. <br /> <br /> 7. Northstar Inspection Services Inc. Building Official shall have the exclusive <br />initial authority to determine interpretations and application of the appropriate codes for projects <br />within the City. However, Northstar Inspection Services, Inc. shall confer with the City’s <br />Building Official before issuing any such interpretations and applications of these codes that <br />might have a significant or unusual effect on projects within the City. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />
