<br /> <br />II. COMPENSATION TO NORTHSTAR INSPECTION SERVICES INC. <br /> <br />1. Northstar Inspection Services Inc. shall be compensated 50% of fees collected by the City <br />for mechanical, plumbing, and building permits and plan reviews for State Projects. <br /> <br />2. Payment of these fees shall be made to Northstar Inspection Services Inc. as follows: <br /> 50% of the fees at time of issuance <br /> 25% of the fees at mid point of project <br /> 25% of the fees upon final <br /> <br />3. The above amounts are the only amounts due to Northstar Inspection Services, Inc. <br />Northstar Inspection Services, Inc. is responsible for all costs associated with the conduct of its <br />business operation, including but not limited to, transportation and insurance costs. <br /> <br />4. Requests for work not related to State Projects shall be compensated at the hourly rate of <br />$75/hour. <br /> <br />5. Northstar Inspection Services Inc. shall be entitled to no reimbursement or allowances <br />from the City with respect to mileage, travel expenses, supplies, or other such items. <br /> <br />III. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br /> <br />The parties further agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. Northstar Inspection Services Inc. shall at all times during the term of this agreement <br />provide a Certified Building Official by the State of Minnesota to perform inspections and plan <br />reviews, and to provide evidence of the same to the City. Any sub-contractors who assist the <br />Building Official in the performance of service to the City shall be likewise certified. <br /> <br />2. The City shall not assume any liability for the direct payment of any salary, wage, <br />worker’s compensation, income tax withholding, or any other type of compensation to Northstar <br />Inspection Services Inc. for performing services under this agreement. This remains the <br />responsibility of Northstar Inspection Services Inc. <br /> <br />3. Northstar Inspection Services Inc. is an independent contractor. None of the employees <br />employed by Northstar Inspection Services Inc. shall be considered employees of the City. No <br />employees of the City shall be considered employees of Northstar Inspection Services Inc. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />4.
