Shorewood Drive – Storm Sewer Improvements – Final Design Phase

PROJECT UNDERSTANDING
The residents at 3203 Shorewood Drive have been experiencing excess overland flows onto their
property from the City street. There is a single inlet in the center of the street that receives flow from
the newly resurfaced road and bituminous curb. The inlet has a tendency to become clogged during a
rain event and flows spread to the lowest lying area, which happens to be the 3203 Shorewood Drive
driveway. HR Green has completed an alternatives analysis to reduce impacts to the adjacent private
property. Based on the analysis, the City of Arden Hills has requested HR Green complete the design
of a stormwater inlet upstream of the 3203 Shorewood Dr. driveway, a raised bituminous driveway with
a concrete driveway apron connecting into concrete curb and gutter, and a roughly 15-foot long
concrete overflow path for excess water to the channel to Lake Johanna.

DELIVERABLES

HR Green will provide the following deliverables:

1. 90% and Final Construction documents (plan sheets) will include effort for one round of
comments from the City after the 90% submittal. Proposed plan sheets are expected to include:
a. Title Sheet*
b. Layout Sheet*
c. Statement of Estimated Quantities*
d. Driveway, Street & Overflow Typical Sections
e.
