We listen.We solve
Roger Clay, PE, PH will lead the stormwater management and erosion control design. Roger has 15 years of experience
in the Twin Cities metro area and a combined 30 years of experience as a practicing stormwater and water quality
engineer. His background and experience will be invaluable to this project and will help our team manage the budget
with his breadth of experience.
Bill Haddick, PLS will be the lead surveyor for the project. He has 41 years of experience as a surveyor and will be a
valuable resource to our project team in delivering an accurate and full ground topographic survey for the project site.
He will be assisted by some junior staff which will allow our team to control budget and limit the amount of time senior
staff needs to analyze ground survey data.
Steve Windish, PE will be the project QC/QA coordinator. Steve has over 30 years of experience and has been a
technical design mentor for much of our junior staff in his years at Ulteig. His in-depth review of the project design will
ensure the City of Arden Hills and Rice Creek Watershed are getting a good design that will be able to be executed
successfully.
Our Approach —Our team will hold an internal kickoff meeting to discuss the project goals, budget, quality control
process, and deliverables. At this time we will set out to complete a line by line schedule that can be provided to the City
at your request. The schedule milestones are defined below:
- Rice Creek Watershed Approval
o November 2020
- Advertisement for Bids
o January 27, 2021
- Construction Completion
o October 31, 2021
Moving forward, the ground survey will begin after the notice proceed is received as soon as weather permits. Please
find the attached scope of topographic survey for additional detail and support. With this project being adjacent to our
office, the completion of the survey will be executed quickly. At the same time as the ground survey, our team will be
gathering and reviewing background information on the project. We will immediately confirm the watershed boundary
and begin developing design alternatives to present to you and your staff. We noticed there are some power lines and
potential right-of-way impacts along the project. Our design alternatives will account for these constraints as they could
greatly affect the cost of construction. Our staff of right-of-way and land surveyors will assist to ensure any existing
easements are identified and all pertinent information is included in the project manual.
We will work with the geotechnical engineering firm the City selects to complete the geotechnical investigation. We
have worked with all geotechnical engineering firms offering services in the twin cities. In our experience, the firm
completing the geotechnical field work will provide a better price for the project if completing the full scope of
geotechnical analysis.
4285 Lexington Avenue North•Arden Hills,MN 55126•P:651-415-3800•www.ulteig.com
