Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6C <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: June 28, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: David Swearingen, Interim Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Snelling Avenue North Street and Utility Improvements <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $1,120,000 $1,250,000 PIR, Utility Funds, <br /> (2021-2025 CIP Area 1) (Recommendation) Special Assessments, Future MSA <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Approval of a professional services agreement with Bolton & Menk in the amount of <br />$199,856.00 for the Snelling Avenue North Street and Utility Improvements Project. <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />On April 26, 2021, the City Council directed staff to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for <br />engineering design and construction administration services associated with the Snelling Avenue <br />North Street and Utility Improvements project. With that direction, Council also directed staff to <br />keep the neighborhood’s concerns regarding pedestrian safety in-mind, and to consider what <br />alternative solutions may be viable. The scope of work contained within the RFP is provided in <br />Attachment A. The RFP was issued to seven consulting firms. Five firms submitted a proposal <br />response on June 4, 2021. <br /> <br />Proposals were evaluated by the Interim Public Works Director, City Administrator and the <br />Public Works Superintendent based on five criteria: project understanding and approach; team
