Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6I <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: July 26, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: David Swearingen, Interim Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: PSA Amendment to Risk and Resilience Assessment <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $0 $25,700 Water Utility Fund <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Professional Services Agreement Amendment for the Potable Water System Risk and <br />Resilience Assessment in the amount of $10,900. <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />On September 28, 2020, City Council approved a professional services agreement with HR <br />Green in the amount of $14,800 to prepare a risk and resilience assessment in response to <br />regulatory mandates. <br />In October 2018, America's Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) was signed into law. The law <br />requires community drinking water systems serving more than 3,300 people to conduct risk and <br />resilience assessments and update emergency response plans. In general, the AWIA risk and <br />resilience assessments process includes: <br /> <br /> Risks to the water system from malevolent acts and natural hazards <br /> Resilience of system components <br /> Monitoring practices for such things as operations, water quality, energy, and security <br /> Financial Infrastructure of the Utility <br /> <br />
