• Performing the duties of the job requires considerable hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity <br /> and extensive periods of time reading a computer monitor and repetitive arm/hand motions for <br /> word processing. The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools <br /> or controls and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is <br /> occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. <br /> The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific <br /> vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, <br /> depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, <br /> WORK ENVIRONMENT <br /> The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee <br /> encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations <br /> may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br /> While performing the duties of this position, the employee occasionally works in outside weather <br /> conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions or airborne particles. <br /> The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. <br /> The employee has frequent contact with City staff, general public, and City Council. <br /> • The employee will use a personal computer, including word processing software; motor vehicle; <br /> calculator; phone; copy and fax machines while performing his/her duties. <br /> NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE,EDGE_ SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br /> Must be able to effectively communicate with Council, staff, other governmental agencies, <br /> business leaders, builders, and developers, in both oral and written communications. <br /> Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. <br /> Must have the ability to prepare technical reports and to present same to staff, Council, and other <br /> groups. <br /> Must have the ability to develop new programs or approaches solving existing or new problems <br /> as they arise. <br /> Ability to deal confidently and effectively with numbers of the public, both in person and on the <br /> telephone. <br />
