<br />" , <br /> <br />ARTICLE IX WORK SCHEDULES. <br /> <br />9.1 The Emp~oyer has tho sole authority In the preparation of <br />work schedules. The normal work day for an employee shall <br />be eight (8) hours from 7:00 o'cfock a.m. to 3:30 P.~. <br />The norma I work week sha II be forty (40) hours Monday <br />through Friday. ' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />9.2 Service to the pYbllc may require the establishment of <br />regular shifts for soma emp~oyees on a dalBy, weekly, <br />seasonaG or an~ua! basis other than the norma~ work day or <br />week. The Empioyer shall give at Jeast three (3) days <br />advance notice to tha employees affected by the establish- <br />ment of work days different from the employee's normal <br />work day or week. <br /> <br />9.3 The employees shail be allowed one coffee break In the <br />morning of twenty (20) mlnut.s In duration, exclusive of <br />driving time to and from Public ~Jorks Building If required, <br />and no'coffee break In the afternoon. They shall be <br />allowed a lunch period of thirty (]Ol minutes for which <br />they wiBi receive no pay. <br /> <br />9.4 In the event that work ~j requirGd bacause of unusual cir- <br />cumstances such as {b~t not limited tol flra, flood, snow, <br />sleet, or brvakdown of municipal equipment or facilities, <br />no advance notlca need be given. The Employee <br />In standby status will make himself availeble during that <br />period for call backs Hnd the Emp~oy&r will call thet <br />Employee first should any call backs be nscessary.
