PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Probst invited those present to come forward and address the Council on <br />any items not already on the agenda. <br /> <br />No one was present for public comments. <br /> <br />PUBLIC INQUIRIES/INFORJ.'\1.A TIONAL <br /> <br />A. Resolution No. 02-27 Recognizing Arden Hills Girl Scouts Gold Award <br />Recipients <br /> <br />Mayor Probst recognized Bobbie May Printz, Sonja Harpstead, and Amy <br />Thorstenson as Arden Hills young women who had achieved the Girl Scout Gold <br />Award, <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Larson moved and Council Member Aplikowski <br />seconded a motion to approve Resolution No. 02-27, Recognizing <br />Arden Hills Girl Scouts Gold Award Recipients. The motion carried <br />unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />SA. JOHNS - SOLICITOR PERMIT <br /> <br />Council Member Larson asked what would be the basis for turning down the <br />particular request for a solicitor permit. City Administrator Lynch outlined which <br />Ordinances would apply for denying the request. <br /> <br />Council Member Aplikowski asked what type of books they were selling. Ms. <br />Young stated staffs recommendation was based on a negative response trom a <br />surrounding community. She stated the books were children's books and religious <br />books. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst indicated he agreed with Council Member Larson that they would <br />need to state the basis for denial. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch indicated these were students selling from out-of-state, <br />
