<br />Ii' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2001 <br />4:45 P.M. - CITY HALL, 4364 WEST ROUND LAKE ROAD <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Dennis Probst called the meeting to order at 4:55 p.m. Those present <br />included Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, David Grant, Gregg Larson and <br />Lois Rem. <br /> <br />Staff present included City Administrator, Joe Lynch; City Accountant, Terry <br />Post; PUbIc Works Director, Dwayne Stafford; Planner, Jennifer Chaput; and <br />City Engmeer, Greg Brown. <br /> <br />State Senator Mady Reiter and Peter Vesterholt of Architectural Alliance were <br />also present. <br /> <br />REPRESENTATIVE. BETTY McCOLLUM <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst introduced Representative Betty McCollum, who in turn introduced <br />Bill Harper, her Chief of Staff, and thanked the City Council for their invitation to <br />attend the meeting, and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet with <br />the City Council and discuss issues related to the Fourth District. <br /> <br />Representative McCollum indicated that she had met with the Mayor and <br />members of the Arden Hills City Council before she met with Mayor Coleman in <br />St. Paul. <br /> <br />Issues discussed with Representative McCollum included the Twin Cities Army <br />Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) and recent events on the property (i.e., acquisition of <br />Quit Claim Deed for City Hall; licensure of a large portion of the property by the <br />Army National Guard; recent interest by General Services Administration to meet <br />with the City Council to discuss their role in the redevelopment of the property; <br />and the Ramsey County/Arden Hills/Army National Guard maintenance facility. <br /> <br />Representative McCollum indicated that she would be willing to assist the City in <br />their attempts to obtain excess property, but indicated that she would need a <br />packet of information, including further detailed planning scope, indication from <br />the neighboring and abutting communities that they agreed with going forward <br />and are aware of the attempts by the City of Arden Hills to do so; and the <br />compatibility of the plan by the City with the Vento Re-Use Plan. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Senator Mady Reiter inquired what she could do for the City of Arden Hills <br />regarding transportation in an upcoming meeting she would be having with the <br />Commissioner of Transportation. The City Council discussed the Highway 96/1 0 <br />
