I
I.
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
Ie
I
I
I
I
I
I
.
.-
.

.ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - FEBRUARY 27. 1995

5

J. Dennis Zollinger of 1700 West County Road F, indicated he had spoken with residents who
did not wish for this project to move forward. Mr. Zollinger indicated the County was going to
do this project for $400,000 and now the City has taken it and increased the cost to over one
million dollars.

Mr. Zollinger indicated he felt it was a commercial street and not a residential one.

Mr. Zollinger inquired as to the time frame of the project. Mr. Stonehouse indicated construction
would begin June 15 and be completed by September 30,1995.

Mr. Zollinger inquired as to traffic on the dirt road. Mr. Stonehouse reiterated, traffic could be
rerouted, and restricted to residential traffic only.

Mr. Zollinger indicated he felt the project was overzealous and the ratio for assessments is unfair
to the residents.

Mr. Paul Tavernier 1651 West County Road F, inquired as to his property and drainage issues.
Mr. Stonehouse indicated the improvements will redefine the ditch.

Mr. Tavernier indicated perhaps to reduce traffic, an entrance to the interstate would be possible.

Mr. James Borg 1812 Janet Court, indicated also concern for the traffic. Mr. Borg inquired as
to the assessment for his property, which is on a comer. Mr. Stonehouse indicated there is
different formula for his property and was unsure of the amount at this time.

Mr. Borg inquired if driveways and berms would be replaced after construction. Mr. Stonehouse
indicated this to be correct.

Mr. Wallace indicated support for the improvement, and believed the work should be done right
the first time, even if it is more expensive.

Mr. Stenglein inquired if the Council could create a focus group for the residents in this area to
determine if the residents want the road as wide as proposed.

Mr. Cliff Aamoth of 1748 West County Road F, inquired as to the location of the walkway.
Mr. Stonehouse indicated the location.

Mr. Aamoth indicated he felt the residents were paying for improvements for a better road for
the buses, which destroyed the road in the first place.

Mr. Woo inquired if at the end of County Road F a three lane road could be established.
