I
I. types of efforts should have been done years ago.
. Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Director, is currently working on the
. goals necessary as part of the Livable Communities Act. He is analyzing five
different options. The Council would like detailed information relating to these
options prior to taking action on the goals.
. Terry Post, City Accountant, indicated the residents of Arden Hills have received
their Truth and Taxation Hearing notices. Based on available information, it
. appears most residents will experience an increase in market valuation and a
decrease in overall taxation.
. Cindy Walsh, Parks & Recreation Director, indicated the Parks and Recreation
Newsletter will be issued in the beginning of December. She has not heard from
Jon Hoelscher regarding the latest Town Crier. Ms. Aplikowski was concerned
. that Mr. Hoelscher was expecting some follow-up from the City.
. Agenda Item #5
Council Comments
Mayor Probst recognized the residents in attendance and asked if they had any
.e specific issues of concern. No one had any comments.
Mayor Probst indicated the City should be more assertive regarding the Highway
. 96 project. He requested that CounciImembers share their goals with him
regarding the upcoming year and any recommendations for Committee
appointments. He also expressed thanks to the volunteers of the Committees and
. suggested that Holiday Cards be mailed to each of them.
Councilmember Malone indicated that he had read that Amoco was interested in
. serving food, along with its automotive facility. Staff should investigate the
relationship of this proposed use in relationship to the zoning ordinance.
. CounciImember Hicks expressed concern regarding TCAAP and the apparent
influence of other cities such as Shoreview. The U ofM property in Shoreview
. has not received the same level of scrutiny as the arsenal. If open space was
necessary the U ofM site also offered opportunities to provide that use and may
have been more easily transferred for that type of use.
. Councilmember Aplikowski indicated she was concerned with the Town Crier
Newsletter and would attempt to get that back on track.
. Motion to adjourn at 7:45 PM.
.e
.
