Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, November 14, 1988
Page 4
PARK DED. (Cont'd) Sather moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve
the Park Dedication fee for American Family Insurance
Company, 3920 Northwoods Drive, in the amount of $17,984.96. Motion carried
unanimously. (4-0)
. REPORT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR
REQ. REPLACE SOD; Council was referred to a memorandum from Public Works
1459 GLENHILL RD. Supervisor dated 11-14-88, relative to a request from
J. SHELENDICH John Shelendich, 1459 Glenhill Road, to replace defective
sod that was planted in conjunction with the 1987
Glenhill Road improvement project; a letter from Shelendich dated 10-27-88 and a
letter from the City Engineer dated 11-4-88 were attached.
Raddatz advised he had viewed the sod with the City Engineer and both agreed the
sod would have grown and remained in good condition if the resident had properly
cared to the newly planted sod; other homeowners in the area watered the sod
beyond the 30-day contract period and the sod remained healthy. It was the
opinion of the Engineer and Raddatz that the contractor for the project performed
as stipulated in the contract and the complaint filed by Shelendich is not valid.
Sather moved, seconded by Winiecki, that Council deny the
request to replace sod at 1459 Glenhill Road, based on the fact the sod has been
in place for two growing seasons beyond the date the sod was planted and other
new sod that had been watered by homeowners beyond the 30 day contract period in
this same area remains healthy and growing. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0)
. REQ. REPAIR LIFT Council was referred to a memorandum from Raddatz dated
STATION NO. 5 11-14-88, requesting authorization expend funds to repair
lift station #5 which was damaged by lightening.
Raddatz advised Council the lowest estimated quote received for the repairs was
approximately $5,000.00.
Sather moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council authorize
the Public Works Supervisor to order the repairs for Lift Station #5 at a cost
not to exceed $5,000.00. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0)
REPORT METRO WASTE; Council was referred to a report from the Public Works
PROP'D CHARGES FOR dated 11-14-88, relative to a proposal from Metro Waste
SHARED WASTEWATER Control that cities work out a payment agreement for
LINES waste water lines shared by two cities.
Raddatz advised they are recommending Arden Hills costs be paid directly to the
City of Roseville rather than the MWCC. He stated he would report back to Council
when more information is obtained.
, REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR
RECMD. SALARY INCR; Council was referred to a memorandum from the Clerk
PT-TIME RECEPT. Administrator dated 11-8-88, recommending a salary
increase for the part-time receptionist upon completion
of a satisfactory probationary period and based on a positive performance
appraisal.
Hansen moved, seconded by Winiecki, that Council
authorize a salary increase from $5.25 to $5.75 per hour for the part-time
receptionist, Amy Treise, effective November 14, 1988. Motion carried
unanimously. (4-0)
REQUEST DONATION; Council was referred to a letter from the Dispute
DISPUTE RESOL. CNTR. Resolution Center, dated 11-8-88, requesting a donation
from the City to fund the program and a memorandum from
the Clerk Administrator dated 11-9-88, recommending a $25.00 donation be
forwarded to the organization from the Human Rights budgeted funds.
Berger advised he had discussed the proposed donation with Human Rights
Commission Chair Younoszai and she indicated the donation would be appropriate at
. this time. He stated a representative from the Dispute Center would appear at the
Human Rights Commission Meeting to discuss the function of the center.
No Council action was taken on this matter.
