<br />Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, April 25, 1988 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />AWARD BID; <br />STREET SWEEPING <br /> <br />Council was referred to a memorandum from the Public <br />Works Supervisor, 4-22-88, reporting the results from <br />the street sweeping bids received and recommending the <br />Knutson Klean Sweep in the amount of $45.45 per hour. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />bid be awarded to <br /> <br />Peck moved, seconded by Sather. that Council award the <br />bid for the street sweeping contract to Knutson Clean Sweep, as outlined in the <br />Public Works Supervisor's memorandum of 4-22-88. Motion carried unanimously. <br />(5-0) <br /> <br />Winiecki questioned if a total amount to be spent for street sweeping should be <br />included in the motion. <br /> <br />Raddatz advised that he had reviewed the last few years sweeping and estimated <br />the number of hours to complete the project; he explained the cost should not <br />exceed the budgeted amount. <br /> <br />Peck suggested Raddatz advise residents, by placing a notice on the Cable <br />channel, when the sweeping would begin. <br /> <br />TREASURER REPORT <br /> <br />INVESTMENTS <br /> <br />Treasurer Green reported on the following investment: <br /> <br />4/15/88 - $200,000.00 invested at Midwest Federal, at 6.75%, to mature 9-1~-88. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Sather moved, Peck seconded, that Council ratify the <br />Treasurer's report. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />REQ. TEMP SIGN; <br />BETHEL COLLEGE <br /> <br />Council was referred to an application for a temporary <br />sign at Bethel, College; a 25 ft. high inflatable balloon. <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Morrison advised the balloon would be placed on top of the <br />Physical Education Building, for one day only, in conjunction with Bethel's <br />Springfest celebration. <br /> <br />Doug Toavs, Director of Tours and Special Events for Bethel College, was present <br />and requested Council approval of the application. Toavs advised the balloon <br />would not be highly visible from the adjacent roadways and would be used to <br />promote the Springfest family carnival on campus. .. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council concurred that Bethel csmpus is in a low area and the <br />balloon would not be highly visible to residents in the area. <br /> <br />Moved by Sather, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve <br />the application for a Temporary Sign, 25 ft. inflatable balloon. on May 6, 1988, <br />as requested. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) 4It <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />SEH; WATER TOWER <br />PROBLEM RESOLUTION <br /> <br />Councilman Sather referred to the letter from SEH, dated <br />4-22-88; advising they are continuing to review various <br />alternatives for resolving the new water tower matter. <br /> <br />Sather moved, seconded by Peck, that SEH be informed the <br />Council requests an answer to questions regarding the new water tower at their <br />Regular Meeting of May 31, 1988, and. if the information is not available at that <br />time, that staff be instructed to refer the matter to Prosecuting Attorney Jerry <br />Filla for recommendation ,to resolve this matter. Motion carried. (Sather, Peck, <br />Hansen and Winiecki voting in favor; Woodburn opposed) (4-1) <br /> <br />In discussion, Mayor Woodburn noted that the Engineers were waiting for the <br />Roseville Public Works staff to conduct a test of their pumping system and supply <br />necessary information to SEH for completion of the report. He questioned if <br />Sather would prefer to wait for' the test results. <br /> <br />Sather noted that the matter has been waiting approximately 7 or 8 weeks; it was <br />his opinion a motion of this nature may expedite the process. ~ <br />
