Page 2 <br /> Police/Fire Department Reports <br /> Deputy Herbst reported on the March 17 event at McGuires; reported 3,800 people <br /> were present; all went well; there were three unfounded noise complaints; and <br /> there were few areas which needed improvement. <br /> Fire Chief Winkel reported on the month's events; discussed events of Tornado <br /> Awareness Week, suggested the Village may wish to review its civil defense <br /> plan. <br /> REPORT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR ROBERT RADDATZ <br /> Street SweepinR <br /> Request for bids will be sent to four organizations. Since the Village sweeps <br /> only once a year, Raddatz recommends having it done at an appropriate time. <br /> Parks Truck Purchase <br /> Specifications have been written; are the same as those for the 1985 Public <br /> Works truck; cost is estimated to be $19,000 with trade-in. Committee <br /> recommends that Council authorize advertisement for bids for a one ton truck, <br /> as per specifications, for the Parks Department. <br /> GaraRe Doors <br /> Raddatz stated that five doors need to be replaced; he stated it would be more <br /> cost effective to replace with steel insulated doors. He recommends <br /> . replacement of the three smaller doors this year with steel insulated doors, <br /> and the remaining large and small door next year. <br /> It was moved by Timm, seconded by Steglich, that Committee recommend to Council <br /> replacement of three garage doors with steel insulated doors, as per the <br /> recommendation of the Public Works Supervisor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Tractors <br /> Committee was advised $40,000 was budgeted in 1987, and $17,000 in 1988, to <br /> replace two tractors. Raddatz recommended replacement of both tractors this <br /> year to make the purchase more cost-effective, with $40,000 payable in 1987 and <br /> the balance in 1988. Raddatz advised he would be going to the Council with <br /> specifications in April. Consensus was to proceed with Raddatz' <br /> recommendation. <br /> Summer Employment <br /> The Committee was informed that three temporary employees will work 500 hours <br /> this summer. <br /> Storm Sewer, Townhouses <br /> The Townhouse Villages, North and South, will need to have storm sewers dug out <br /> and sand, at 2' level, placed under the pipes. Raddatz advised he will get <br /> costs for doing this work and report to this committee and Council. <br /> Alarm System <br /> . It has been proposed that the alarm system for the lift stations and boosters <br /> be <br />
