<br /> - - <br /> . OPTION 1 <br /> Amend Section VI of the Zoning Ordinance as follows: <br />i I. EXPIRATION OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PERMITS <br />i (1 ) New Construction <br /> Building permits for all new construction of one- and two- <br /> family residences shall expire two years after the date of <br /> issuance. <br /> (2) Additions, Improvements and Accessory Structures <br /> Building permits for any addition or improvement to an existing <br /> one- or two-family residence, or an accessory building of a <br /> one- or two-family residence shall expire one year after the <br /> date of issuance. <br /> (3) Extensions <br /> The City Council may extend the time limit for residential <br /> building permits providing that application for such extension <br /> is made in writing previous to the expiration date of said <br /> permit. The application for an extension shall state the <br /> reasons for the request. <br /> (4) Completion of Construction <br /> . On or before the date of building permit expiration, as <br /> provided herein, all construction shall be completed, including: <br /> Painting, staining, or other exterior finishing; <br /> Paving of driveways and walks; <br /> Removal of all construction materials, equipment debris, <br /> and excess earth; <br /> Placement of topsoil, finish grading, and sodding or <br /> seeding of lawn areas; and <br /> Finish grading of any swales within established drainage <br /> easements necessary to accommodate natural drainage of <br /> adjacent properties. <br /> J. CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY <br /> Before any building shall be legally occupied, the Building Inspector <br /> shall issue a Certificate of Occupancy. Said Certificate of <br /> Occupancy shall not be issued until the Building Inspector has <br /> determined that the construction has been accomplished in compliance <br /> with all applicable building codes and that all items identified in <br /> paragraph VI,I(4) have been completed. <br /> . <br /> -- <br />
