<br />Minutes of the Re.r Council Meeting, August 10, 4It7 <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />RES. #87-43 (Cont'd) Moved by Hansen, seconded by Peck, that Council approve <br />Resolution No. 87-43, GRANTING KEM MILLING DIVISION OF <br />DARLING AND COMPANY A PERMIT FOR CONDUCTING A NONCONFORMING RENDERING PLANT AND <br />AFFIXING CERTAIN CONDITIONS AS TO OPERATION THEREOF. Motion carried <br />unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />SPEC. EVENT SIGNS; <br />AMOCO & JEWELRY <br /> <br />Council was referred to the two requests for special <br />event signs at the Amoco station and at McGuire's for <br />jewelry sales. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />There was discussion relative to limiting the number of special event signs for <br />a specific location or business and if retails sales licenses should be issued; <br />Council suggested administrative review of limitations of the special event <br />sign requests. <br /> <br />Moved by Peck, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve <br />the requests for Special Event Signs at Arden Hills Amoco and for My Designer <br />Jewelry at McGuire's. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Council was referred to a letter from Mary Ferguson, <br />8-7-87, requesting permission to place a small travel <br />trailer on their property at 1150 Arden Vista Court <br />until such time as their home being constructed at <br />that location is completed; approximately the middle of September. Ferguson <br />explained that she had contacted the immediate neighbors and heard no <br />objections. <br /> <br />TEMP. RESIDENCE <br />l500 ARDEN VISTA <br />COURT, FERGUSON <br /> <br />There was discussion relative to sanitary facilities, outlets for electricity 4It <br />and length of time trailer would be parked on the property. <br /> <br />Moved by Hansen, seconded by Peck, that Council approve <br />the request for temporary residence at l500 Arden Vista Court, Mary Ferguson, <br />conditioned upon: <br /> <br />1. The applicant providing electriCity hook-up to the home so an external <br />generator is not operating in a residential area. <br />2. That sanitary facilities be provided in the trailer or that the home be <br />hOOked-up to sanitary sewer and that fresh drinking water be provided. <br />3. That the trailer be parked at that location no longer than October <br />15,1987. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />TEMP. RESIDENCE; <br />WATER TOWER SITE <br /> <br />Council was referred to the request from Larson Tank <br />Company to park a trailer, for temporary residence. <br />at the water tower jobsite; to prevent vandalism and <br />theft of property while the tower is being painted. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peck questioned if the letter regarding the City's liability in <br />the event of any damage waa sufficient; suggested the Attorney be contacted for <br />his opinion. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Moved by Hansen, seconded by Peck, that Council approve <br />the request from Larson Tank Company for a Temporary Residence to be located at <br />the Water Tower job site, condition upon: <br /> <br />1. Provision of sanitary facilities and fresh drinking water. <br />2. Trailer be parked at the site no longer than 14 days after completion <br />of the painting of the Water Tower. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />PURCH. TYPEWRITER <br />DEPUTY CLERK IAGO <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator advised that the Deputy Clerk has <br />requested the matter of the purchase of a replacement <br />typewriter be continued to the Regular Council meeting <br />of August 3lst. After researching the possibility of purchasing compatible <br />computer equipment, Iago found that IBM is not longer marketing the PC or XT <br />models; the request for a time extension is for further research of compatible <br />computer equipment. <br /> <br />1988 BUDGET GDLINES <br /> <br />COuncil was referred to the 1988 Budget Guidelines, <br />as prepared by Charlotte McNiesh. <br /> <br />Morrison advised that the salary increases proposed address continued <br />compliance with Comparable Worth in 1988. <br /> <br />. <br />
