<br />Minutes of the Regul~ounCil Meeting, June 8, 1987 . <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />RES. 87-29 (Cont'd) <br /> <br />After discussion of the proposed increase, Council <br />concurred that they are opposed to charging the 65% <br />plan review fee for residential building permits. <br /> <br />Councilmember Winiecki questioned if the increase seemed high due to the fact . <br />the Village has not increased the fee for a number of years. <br /> <br />Morrison commented that the Village currently uses the 1979 Building Permit fee <br />schedule. <br /> <br />Moved by Sather, seconded by Hansen, that Council <br />approve Resolution No. 87-29; RESOLUTION REVISING FEES FOR BUILDING PERMITS, <br />RE-INSPECTIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS CONSTRUCTION PERMITS AS REQUIRED BY ORDINANCE <br />NO. 217, AND ABOLISHING RESOLUTION NO. 83-56, and furthermore, amends Item #2: <br />Plan Check Fee to read: " 50% of the building permit fee for all <br />commercial/industrial/institutional new construction and remodeling permits." <br />'Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />RES. #87-30; REV. <br />PERMIT FEES FOR <br />ZONING ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />Council was referred to Finance Committee minutes of <br />May 28th recommending increased permit fees for Zoning <br />and Subdivision Codes. <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Morrison advised the increases have been reviewed with the <br />Zoning Administrator and Planner and stated the increases more closely reflect <br />the fees charged by other communities and should adequately cover the <br />administrative costs. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council questioned if applicants would receive an estimate of consultant fees <br />upon submitting application. <br /> <br />Morrison advised that the fees would be based on the sophistication of the <br />case, however, she stated it may be possible for the consultants to give the <br />applicant an estimate of costs. <br /> <br />Moved by Hansen, seconded by Peck, that Council approve <br />Resolution No. 87-30; RESOLUTION REVISING FEES FOR APPLICATIONS UNDER CITY <br />ZONING AND SUBDIVISION CODES. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />FINANCE COMM. <br />APPOINTMENT <br /> <br />Council was referred to Finance Commission minutes of <br />May 28th; recommending Council appoint a resident to <br />serve on the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />Morrison advised that one member has not attended any meetings since January <br />1st and another member has attended only one meeting; the Council suggested <br />advertising for interested persons. <br /> <br />Council discussed the resumes from Thomas Mulcahy and Sandra Dunekacke; they <br />suggested a notice be placed in the Town Crier and on Cable TV for further ... <br />resumes and Council would review them at a future date. <br /> <br />RESIGNATION; <br />HUMAN RTS. COMM. <br /> <br />thanks for her service <br /> <br />Moved by Hansen, seconded by Peck, that Council accept <br />the resignation of Lois Donalds from the Human Rights <br />Committee and that she be sent an appropriate letter of <br />on the Committee. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Council suggested the Clerk Administrator advertise for persons interested in <br />serving on this Committee in the Town Crier and on Cable T.V. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TREASURER <br /> <br />INVESTMENTS <br /> <br />Treasurer Lamb advised the Council of the following <br />investments: <br /> <br />6/5 - $257,192.82 at Twin City Federal. at 6.60%, to mature 6/29/87. <br /> <br />Moved by Hansen, seconded by Sather, that Council <br />ratify the Treasurer's report. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Lamb advised the Council that he is anticipating investing one million dollars 4It <br />in Treasury Bills for a period of one year. <br /> <br />Council discussed whether or not the monies would be needed for the purchase of <br />a possible site for a fire station; Lamb commented that the funds could be <br />withdrawn with a minimal penalty if necesssry. <br />
