IS~5 <br /> <br />~ipl"i"ie.J~ D'~~U Ing Petition <br /> <br />Mrs. Gloria Kuehn, 3581 Ridgeaood Road, presented a p~tltlon to <br />the Mayor and Village Council, as follows: <br /> <br />\18, tha undersigned residents of Arden Hills, respect- <br />Ively petition, urge and request that current efforts <br />to change single family residential zoning In Breas of <br />the Village to permit multiple or town house development <br />be denied. We believe It to be In the best Interests <br />of all present resIdents of this village that we retain <br />this Village as a single family residential village <br />with such Industrial and commercial development as Is <br />consistent ~Ith the overall concept of the ComprehensIve <br />Development Plan. 1964-1980. <br /> <br />Approximately 250 signatures were on this petItion. <br /> <br />PetItion referred to Trustee Hoffmann to present to the Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Nethercut stated that to date the Council has not received <br />the Planning Commission's recommendation, but If a recommenda- <br />tion of approval Is received, a publiC hearing will be required. <br /> <br />Complaints <br /> <br />George A. Salltros, 3625 North Haml Ine Avenue, appeared before <br />the Council and voiced discontent on several matters. He re- <br />quested actIon to obtain lighting at the Intersection of Hamllne <br />Avenue and.County Road E. Mayor Nethercut and the Council agreed <br />that this Intersection Is very hazardous. Trustee Crepeau moved, <br />seconded by Trustee BJorndahl, that the Council request the County <br />to Install lights at the Intersection of County Road E and Hamllne <br />Avenue; motion Carried. Referred to Clerk. <br /> <br />Mr. Salltros requested that better direction be given to the <br />Bethel College Campus as many people attempt to reach the site <br />via Hamllne Avenue which Is now a dead-end street and use his <br />drive-way as a turn-around, which Is annoying. Matter referred <br />to Clerk Lorraine Stromquist to contact Bethel College for <br />recommendations on simplifying the finding of the site. <br /> <br />He stated that dogs running at large are a problem. Trustee <br />Crepeau Informed him that a concerted effort Is beIng made to el Im- <br />Inate this problem. <br /> <br />Mr. SaJltros stated that he received a sewer bit ling for the <br />complete last quarter, which consisted of October, November, and <br />December. He does not believe he Is liable for this billing, <br />since he did not move Into his new home until December 21, 1965, <br />although the sewer Inspection was made on September 3. Clerk <br />Lorraine Stromquist stated that It Is the polIcy of the Village <br />to start sewer billing one month after the Inspection has been <br />made; a letter had been sent to Attorney Richard Jones, at his re- <br />quest, whIch contained an excerpt from the minutes statIng this <br />polIcy. Mayor Nethercut stated hIs belief that the Council should nor <br />deviate from this polley; the Council agreed. Mr. Salltros re- <br />quested a copy of his well report, referred to Clerk Lorraine Stromquist. <br /> <br />League of Women Voters Presentation <br /> <br />Mrs. Nan Smalley, Local Study Chairman for the League of Women <br />Voters of Arden Hills presented booklets - "Minnesota TwIn Cities <br />Metropolitan Area" and "Government In the Metropolitan Area" to <br />members of the Council, on behalf of the League. <br /> <br />Multiple Dwelllnos <br /> <br />Mr. Jurgenson stated his Interest In constructing two 30-unlt' apart- <br />ment buildings at County Road E and Highway 51.
