Anyone wishing to haul overloads on posted streets, <br />must get approval from Trustee Olmen and submit a 'letter stating that <br />they'wlll be responsible for any damage. <br /> <br />REPORT OF MAYOR NETHERCUT <br /> <br />Civic Cenh~r <br /> <br />Mayor Nethercut stated 'the Comm I ttee' s apprec I at Ion I n respond I ng <br />to Its request for estimated area and facilities In the proposed <br />Civic Center. <br /> <br />Trustee Olmen stated that the County would build the library If given <br />the property. Trustee BJorndahl Informed the Council that Mrs. Vera <br />Langer had talked with the County and It Is very Interested In build- <br />Ing In Arden Hills. <br /> <br />'Mayors' Meeting <br /> <br />Mayor Nethercut had attended the Mayors' Meeting at Bloomington and <br />had a several page report; he defined the 'tax area to be consIdered <br />and stated that they Intend to have a research staff of tax experts, <br />fInanced by the Dayton Company's $50,000.00 grant; study will <br />probably take 60 to 90 days. It ~as recommended that the study In- <br />clude the seven counties. <br /> <br />Federal Assistance <br /> <br />Mayor Nethercut referred to Stan Olmen material received from Senator <br />Karth concerning federal assistance for se~er, water, etc. <br /> <br />Seminars and MeetIngs <br /> <br />Clerk LorraIne Stromquist was requested to attend a ~wo day seminar <br />sponsored by the League of Minnesota MunicIpalities on March 24 and <br />25. Mayor Nethercut distributed applications for nominatIons for the <br />LudwIg Award given by the League of MInnesota Municipalities. <br /> <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist Informed 'the Council that a seminar wfll be <br />held at the University of Minnesota on March 22, 23 and 24 for Finance <br />OffIcers and Clerks, which she hopes to attend. Mayor Nethercut <br />~ and Trustee Hoffmann Intend to attend the March 8,meetlng at the Arden <br />Hills TrainIng Center, sponsored by the MInnesota Planning CommIssIon, <br />regarding transit problems In the metropolitan area. <br /> <br />The Ramsey County League of MunIcipalities will meet at the Village <br />Hall In Arden Hills on March 16. A report on metropolItan government <br />will be gIven and discussed. <br /> <br />Information Request <br /> <br />Mayor Nethercut requested the Clerk submit Informational data to <br />the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce as requested. <br /> <br />Mayors' Plaque <br /> <br />Trustee Hoffmann was authOrIzed to order an addition to the Village <br />plaque honoring formerMayor Kennedy for his servIce to the Village. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
