COLLECTION <br /> 3.1 Recyclable materials shall be prepared as follows: <br /> Newspaper and non-glossy paper: placed in paper bags or <br /> cardboard boxes. <br /> Glass: lids removed, rinsed, and placed in paper bags or <br /> cardboard boxes. <br /> Metal cans: will be rinsed and placed in paper bags or cardboard <br /> boxes. <br /> Miscellaneous metals: will be placed in cardboard boxes, not to <br /> exceed 15 lbs. in weight. <br /> Cardboard: bagged, boxed, or bundled no larger than 3 foot by 3 <br /> foot pieces. <br /> 3.2 Containers in which recyclable materials have been stored shall <br /> be placed on the curbside in front of the resident's property by 7:00 <br /> A.M. on the scheduled day or collection. <br /> 3.3 All recyclable material placed for collection shall be owned by . <br /> and the responsibility of the occupants of residential properties <br /> until they are handled by the Contractor. Upon handling of the <br /> containers and recyclable materials by the Contractor, the recyclable <br /> materials become the property and responsibility of the Contractor. <br /> 3.4 Recyclable materials deemed unacceptable by the Contractor <br /> according to preparation procedures in provision 3.1 shall be <br /> collected on the first occurrence by the Contractor and a notice left <br /> with the occupant. The address and reason shall be reported to the <br /> City the following day so the City can notify the resident of the <br /> proper sorting procedure. <br /> Subsequent instances of unacceptable recyclable materials may be <br /> rejected; however, this shall be reported to the City and a notice <br /> left with the occupant explaining why the materials were not picked <br /> up. <br /> 3.5 The Contractor's employees shall save for residents' reuse any <br /> containers marked SAVE. These containers, once emptied, shall be <br /> returned to the curbside. Any spills will be cleaned up immediately <br /> by the Contractor. <br /> 4. CONTRACTOR'S EQUIPMENT <br /> 4.1 The Contractor's vehicles shall be marked with the name of the . <br /> Contractor and the recycling logo. <br /> 4.2 The Contractor shall maintain all trucks and equipment in good <br />
