The department's 6 pumpers (761, 762, 763. 765, 840,
841) are generally capable of flowing 1,250 gallons of water
per minute (g.p.m.) and carry 500 gal ions in their booster
tanks. Truck 765 is an exception in that it carries 1.500
gallons. Again, except for 765, which is 12 years old, the
equipment is quite new - none is more than 4 years old. We
should expect 20 years of service from these vehicles, which
presently cost from $150,000 to $180,000 to replace.
The two aerials (842, 843) are new and should be
capable of at least 20 years of service, maybe 25. They
too, are equipped with 1,250 g.p.m. pumps and carry 250 or
500 gallons of water.
The tanker (764) is quite oid. Its replacement should
be a priority of North Oaks, since the lack of hydrants in
that city is why the truck is needed.
Three grass rigs should be enough, and two are fairly
new (768, 769) . One (766) was purchased in 1966, and
probao I y will need to be replaced sometIme soon. The
expense for replacing thIs truck should range around
$20,000.
. -- Page 2 --
