(4-0) <br />FINAL PAYMENT; Council was referred to a memorandum fram the Clerk <br />CHEMICAL ANAYSIS, Administrator dated 9-6-90, relative to final payment . <br />DRUM DI8roSAL to for chemical analysis and drum disposal at the Kem <br />KEM MILLING SITE site. <br />Daryl Ohmn was present to review the final payment amounts and supporting <br />time/material data received fram the firms conducting the removal of the drums at <br />the Kem Milling site. <br />Council questioned why three companies were utilized to a=mplish the chemical <br />disposal. <br />Ohmn explained Bay West, the subcontractor hired to dispose of the drums, had <br />the specialized equipment necessary to a=mplish disposal; Metro was hired to <br />transport and dispose of the drums, however, they detennined four of the drums <br />contained materials they could not dispose of at their site and Aptus was hired <br />to dispose of the remaining four barrels. <br />Council questioned if the project is close to finalization at this time. <br />Ohman advised the only remaining item is the removal of the contaminated soils <br />fram the site and completion of a report fram Delta Envirorunental on the project. <br />Council requested the Clerk Administrator prepare a finalized breakdown of all <br />costs associated with the phased clean-up at the Kern Milling site and a <br />comparison with the initial cost estin1ates for the project, when a final report <br />is received from Delta Environmental Consultants. <br /> Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, to authorize the . <br />expenditure for final payment for chemical analysis and drum disposal at the Kern <br />Milling site, in the amount of $7,063.42.
