Lund. <br /> REPORT OF TRUSTEE NETHERCUT <br /> Coun-ry Road D and lexington Avenue ZonIng Matter <br /> Trustee Nethercut reported that Ramsey County has turned down the property on the <br /> southwest corner of County Road 0 and Lexington Avenue for park use and Rosevil Ie <br /> Is again considering the site for multiple dwellings. Trustee Nei-hercut Informed <br /> the Council that the Planning Commission feels that this area Is not suitable <br /> . for -~he proposed multiple dwellings being considered and ~louJd serve much be-l--k,; <br /> as a park site; Robt. Kerr was to attend the Rosevllle Planning Commission meet- <br /> Ing to relate the feelings of the Arden HII Is Planning Commission. Trustee <br /> Nethercut requested suggestions from the Council. <br /> Trustee Nethercut moved, seconded by Trustee Olmen, that Arden Hills send a <br /> le)~er to Ramsey County with a carbon copy to Rosevl lie regarding the feeling <br /> of the Planning Comm-sslon on this matter of rezoning and to urge the County to <br /> reconsider the area for park purposes; motion carried. Matter referred to Clerk <br /> Lorraine Stromquist. <br /> North Suburban Y.M.C.A. <br /> Trustee Nethercut stated that he belIeves that a good location for the proposed <br /> Y.M.C.A. would be near the proposed Civic Center site. He Infor~~d the Councl I <br /> that the Y would like to consider a site by early next year. Trustee Nethercut <br /> suggested that the Civic Center Committee be formed and become active immediately. <br /> He Informed the Council that he wi II work closely with the Y to urge them to build <br /> In Arden HI I Is. He stated that a list of possible sites for the Y had been mal led <br /> to the members of the Council from the Planning Commission. <br /> Councl I Appointments - Civic Center Committee <br /> The Council appointed Larry Brodie from the Planning Commission, Betty Klaas <br /> from the Parks and Recreation Committee and Trustee Nethercut from the CouncIl to <br /> serve on the Civic Center Committee. <br /> Planning Commission-Parks & Recreation Committee Appointment <br /> As recommended by the Planning Commission, the Councl I appointed Ruth Cadwell as <br /> liaison between the PlannIng Commission and the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> Malntemince Facilities <br /> Mayor Kennedy requested Trustee Olmen to submit the requirements for the maintenance <br /> department and storage facilities for the public works dept. Trustee Olmen In- <br /> formed the Council that he has a meeting scheduled for this week. <br /> Mayor Kennedy suggested that these facilities should be located In an Industrial <br /> area, but could be near the Civic Center with proper screening. <br /> Proposed Boundary Rezoning - New Brighton <br /> Mayor Kennedy stated that he noticed In the Planning Commission minutes of Oct. 7, <br /> that the Commission ~lId requested Carl Dale to prepare a letter to the Village of <br /> New Brighton concerning the consideration be~ng given by New Brighton on the, re- <br /> zoning of the Cleveland 'Avenue and County Road 0 area for multiple dwel ling use. <br /> Mayor Kennedy stated that he believes It Is fine to have mutual understandings, <br /> . but feels strongly That any such Jetter to the Village of New Brighton should come <br /> from the Arden Hills Council; he requested that this letter not be sent, If It has <br /> not already been mailed. <br /> Trustee Nethercut Informed the Council that the letter was Intended to be sent to <br /> the New Brighton Planning Commission. <br /> Mayor Kennedy then stated that this throws a different light on the matter, but <br /> firmly believes that If Is Important for all Committees to. keep In mind that such <br /> matters should be.cleared through the Council. <br /> See P~e Six for additional Items. <br /> REPOR OF TRUSTEE CREPEAU <br /> PublJ~Safety Committee <br /> Trustee Crepeau Informed the Council that he has no rec-mmendatlons from the <br /> PUbilc Safety Committee, but requested that the Council meet with the Public <br /> Safety Committee after the scheduled meeting for next Monday night; the Council <br /> "agreed to this request. <br /> -4- <br />
