Donald Lund informed the Council that two problems a~e causing <br />the drainage situation at the playg~und at County Road F and Snelling <br />Avenue c l} the infield needs regrading and Wilbur Liebenow has io= <br />structed Ryan Landscaping Co. to regrade this area. 2} storm sewer <br />water is not running as planned. <br /> <br />Fred Nixon stated that there has been too much water run off for the <br />small culvert to handle and there is not enough pitch to the County <br />ditch. ~ngr. Lund agreed that the culvert is not adequate and that the <br />low spots holding the water are on priVate property. Matter referred <br />to Engineer for further study. <br /> <br />Trustee Nethercut suggested that Bngr. Lund confer with the County to <br />try to work out a solution at the same time as they are reconstructing <br />the intersection of Snelling Avenue and County Road F. <br /> <br />Cummings Lane Road Improvement <br />~ngr. Lund showed two sketches of possible turn a~unds to solve the <br />traffic problem on Cummings Lane: l} a eul de sac designed according tc <br />the Ordinance and using private property, and 2} a driveway 30 ft. wide <br />by 50 ft. long using the available property. Acting Mayor Crepeau <br />suggested that Engr. Lund stake out Plan No. 2 for visual study and <br />confer with the property owners and also suggest Plan No.1 to them. <br /> <br />Oak Avenue Road Problams <br />Council authorized ~ngr. Lund to notify the sewer contractor to take <br />dare of the street settlings on Oak Avenue within two weeks and any <br />money due them to be withheld until the street is in satisfactory <br />condition. The Council agreed with Trustee Lang1s suggsDtion that the <br />Contr~ctor should place barricades with flashers at hazardous areas. <br /> <br />Sewer Matter - Greforich Propert~ <br />The Council reques eel the Ulerk 'Go inform John Gl:'egorich, 1609 Lalre <br />Johanna Blvd., that as soon as the water level drops at Lake JOhanna, <br />the sewer line will be conetructed across Johanna Blvd. to enable his <br />house to be connected to the sanitary sewer system. <br /> <br />N.S.P. Gas Installation <br />The Council requested Engr. Lund to notify the N.S.P. Co. to clean the <br />roads after completing the gas installation on Siama Court. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TRUSTEE NETHJ!:RCUT <br /> <br />Rezoning Petition <br />Trustee Nethercut moved, seconded by Trustee Lang, that the rezoning <br />petition requested by Continental 011 Co. to have property rezoned <br />at 35W and Highway 96 from residential to eOllllllel'cial be ~;eferred to <br />'the Planning COllllllission; motion carried. <br /> <br />District Planning Meeting <br />Trustee ~ethercut reported that the first District Planning MeetingD <br />which was held at the Village Hall in Arden HillsD was well attended <br />and a second meeting has been soheduled far June 17 at the Arden Hills <br />Village Hall. <br /> <br />701 Plan <br />Trustee Nethercut informed the Council that he had conferred with <br />Carl Dale on the double printing of the proposed zoning maps and stated <br />that this could not be done under the 701 Plan; if the maps are not <br />printed. the money could be used tor some other purpose. Acting Mayor <br />CrepeaU suggested that the nimimum number of maps be ordered. <br /> <br />Trustee Nethercut stated that the Planning Oommission would like to <br />meet with the Council to stUdy the major items in Planning Report Noo 40 <br />The Council agreed, subject to the apprOVal of Mayor KennedYe that a <br />meeting be scheduled for Monday, June 21.
