He informed the Council <br />that the improvement would consist of 1,115 front feet for sewer snd <br />730 front f'eet f'or street; that the property owners have already been <br />assessed ~i2.50 under improvement no. 3 Qnd .60!i under improvement no. 1. <br />"..Thetots.l estiL..ated cost .for the project is $28.!iJ83.43; this figure <br />' inclUdes $38000.00 to cover Possible expense incurred for construction <br />through peat. The sewer line is already laid under the freeway for <br />this improvement. <br /> <br />On 'the matter of the cul de sac oonsidered for cons'i:;ruction at the <br />end. of' Cummings, Lane, which Was referred to hi.... for study by the <br />Counoil, Bngr. Lund reported that there is not any right~o~=waY fo~ <br />this and doubted i~ there is sufficient private property for its <br />const~1ction; however, a Possible solution might be to blacktop an area <br />large enough so a vehicle could drive into it. back up and head out <br />again = this would eliminate the use of private property. Mayor <br />Kennedy requested Engr. Lur.d and Trustee Olmen to confor \iJith 'aha <br />property owners to get their opinionso <br /> <br />Playground Drainage Problem <br />Trustee Lang requested Engr. Lund to check a drainage problem at the <br />playground at County ROad F and Snelling Avenue. Trustee Lang i~= <br />formed the Council that topsoil and seedling grass is being Washed <br />aWay. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TRUSTEE CREPEAU <br /> <br />,~/'!:OrcUna:no e <br />~ruatee Crepeau stated that the ,Dog Ordinanoe is being enforced and <br />the Village is being Patrolled. <br /> <br />Polioe Officer Resignation <br />Trustee CrepeaU moved, seoonded by Trustee Olmen, that the resignati~n <br />of Police Offioer Donald BeaUbienD 1823 Gramsie Road, be accepted as <br />of' May 7D 1965; motion Oarried. <br /> <br />Tornad@ Cooperation <br />Mayor Kennedy moved, seconded by. Trustee Lang. that the Village pay <br />Fred Nixon and the Village Police Dept. for time and/or equipment for <br />assistance 1n the tornado area on May 7D in the event they are not <br />Paid f~om another souroe; motiop carried. <br /> <br />Trustee Crepeau reforted that all the surrounding Villages police <br />of'ficers cooperated during the tornado emergency and the Arden Hills <br />' polioe made five trips to Bethesda Hospital with injUred people f~om <br />Mounds View. <br /> <br />Jailin~ of Prisoners <br />Clerk orrsine Stromquist resd a letter, dated May 3, 19b5, from the <br />County AUditor's offioe whioh oontained a resolution stating that <br />hamsey County would oontinue to inoaroerate and maintain prisoners <br />for the Village of Arden .lUlls. , <br /> <br />POssible Health HaZard <br />The matter of a oompost pile composed of materials which result in a <br />health hazard was discussed by the Council. Atty. Courtney advised <br />that if Dr. Farkas, Village Health Off'lcerD believes that a health <br />hazard exists. he has the authority to inspeot the property. Matter <br />ref'erred to Atty.
