He explained the need for more lighting of the tank has not been detennined <br /> at this time, however, he agreed to install the sensitized lighting if it is <br /> preferable. <br /> Member Edckson asked if the applicant intends to paint the tank to be compatible <br /> with the ruilding color. <br /> 'Ihe Planner explained the tank will remain white, to reflect the sunlight and <br /> prohibit heat retention. He stated all sbnilar tanks in the city are white. <br /> eouncil1nernber Mahowald noted the Engineer's rremoranchnn indicates two tanks are to <br /> be installed; questioned if this is an error. <br /> '!he Planner explained there is only one tank and the other structure is a . <br /> vaporizer . <br /> Petersen moved, seconded by M03raw, that Commission <br /> recommend to Council approval of Case #92-01, site Plan Amendment for l=ation of <br /> a liquid nitrogen tank on an industrial site for Resistance Technology, Inc., at <br /> 1260 Red Fox Road, based and conditioned on the following: <br /> 1. '!he tank is needed to perfonn the high-tech manufacturing process required at <br /> RI'I. <br /> 2, Sbnilar tanks are in use elsewhere in the city. <br /> 3. '!he tank CO!lqJlies with the unifonn Building Code requirements, is coded <br /> by ASME and the installation meets NFPA, OSHA and state standards; and the <br /> Traveler's Insurance Company will inspect the tank annually and issue a <br /> Certificate of Exerrption, A COPY of the Certificate will be foIWclrded to the <br /> city on an annual basis. <br /> 4. The distance from Red Fox Road and the natural screening provided by existing <br /> vegetation ad~tely protects the visual concerns of the City, so additional <br /> screening is not required. <br /> 5, If additional site lighting is needed to light the installation for servicing <br /> or security, RI'I has agreed to provide such lighting, as approved by the <br /> Planner. <br /> Motion carried unan.i1rousl y , (6-0) <br /> . <br />
