Olmsn reported that a ditch is be1ng built around the playground at <br />County Rdo F and HighWay #10 ~om the storm sewe~ 80 that it comea out <br />at the road drain. <br /> <br />He aieo stated that the area west of Lake Johanna could use excess d11't <br />behind the f11-e harn. <br /> <br />Mr. Crepeau stated that he and Mr. Olmen went over the Siems Court projeo1; <br />and now ha'IYB the sewer problem there fairly well straightened out. A fn <br />easements may have to be changed involving no legal action - no major <br />ohanges - merely a ohange in the lins.. The storm sewer will be changed <br />to go through Helseth's property.. Mr. Crepeau sugrested that Mr. Helseth <br />be given re11ef of approximately $100.00 on his assessment as he has givsp <br />1'l'ee easements to the village for both sewer and storm sewer and since ' <br />his property is low he will need f1 pump to pump up to the sewer 0 This <br />relief on assessments w1ll help defray extra cost to him of the pump. <br /> <br />MR. PERRY asked whoee responsibility 1t was to open up the culvert which <br />goes under County Rd. E towards the lit't station. Mr. Olmen stated that <br />this was a county road and they were responsible, unless the culvert was <br />plugged up during village construction work. Matter was referred to Mr. <br />Olmen. <br /> <br />Mr. Crepeau asked the clerk to write a letter to SHERIFF KERMIT HEDMAN, <br />stating tha Arden Hills police force would oooperate in patrolling village <br />roads dUl'ing the labor day weekend. <br /> <br />CLERK'S REPOR'!' - Latter da'ted August 11. 1901 to Vincent Courtney from <br />Mrs. Stromquist regarding costs incurred at pay ground property; Mrs. <br />Strol,1quist asked if the council knew of any other oosts that should ba <br />included. Mayor, Ashbach suggested that if'th3re is a penalty faT.' paying <br />off the bonds ahead of t1ms ,that cost should be inoluded. ' The council <br />also felt the costs should beg! ven 1n the form of a lump sumo' This was <br />left to the deeis ion of the attorney. <br /> <br />The area a.t County Road F and Highway 10 was again disoussed. Mr. Olmen <br />suggested th!'!t a little league coaoh or someone like Mr. Harmon, recret;d;~ <br />10nal director of Mounds View school be called for suggestions as to how <br />to layout this area properly for a ball field. 'The oountj has fiXed 'this property uP. putting up baok <br />stops, eto. and maintains the f11'ea. . <br /> <br />A letter. was read from Roger Short dated AUgust 10, 1961, 1'19: application <br />from Northwestern Bell telephone Co. to place and maintain a buried <br />telephone oable on Dunlap stoHe recommended approving app1Ioation and <br />sending a lette~ from the village clerk suggesting that the placing o~ <br />the cable be delayed until the rough grading of Dunlap stl'eet has been <br />completed. <br /> <br />Mr. Crepeau moved. Mr. Olmen seconded motion that village approvE! North- <br />west Bell Telephone application and letter be sent as suggested by the <br />Village engineei' 0 Motion carried. <br />
