When the engineer was asked for his opinion of the island he stated they <br />were designing the roads to please the residents and it was Q matter of <br />Ildo you want the island 01' don't you 1". <br /> <br />E. WALIACE WELIS, 4065 Valentine Court stated that he lived between Kunze <br />and McDonald. Be doesn't like the barricade andhe also doesn't; like the <br />traffic. He would be in favor of a depression in the road in place of an <br />island. <br /> <br />MR. JAMES THOMllS * 1655 ValentioG court again expressed his concern 1'0%' the <br />safety of the ch1ld!l'en. Traffic goes 40 miles per hour on county road "FIl <br />and 50 miles per hour 00 Highway 1110. He would rather have the school <br />buses pick them up in front of the11' homes and he would not object to a <br />depression. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MR. KDJPORTS, 1645 Valentine Court wanted to know if there was going to be <br />a culvert under the road whioh would interfere with a depression and the <br />draioage . <br /> <br />KARL BUBAlIDT, read engineer, stated that a depression causee no problem 1n <br />regard to drainage. <br /> <br />MAYOR ASHmCH sta tad that the pounty Doard 1s to take aot10n vary soon <br />regarding County Road "F" and Hlgh~ay #10 interseotion. <br /> <br />MR. KARL l3ORA'NDT, road englneEll'. stated. when aaked how effective a depl"ess= <br />ion is, that a depression six inches deap* six feet long slcms traffio down <br />to 15 miles per hour. "Bump" <br />This latter sign must be pos ted fifty feat from the bump on eithaX' side of <br />the street. KIliPORTS, 1645 Valentine Ave. feels that blunting the point of the <br />island would oause squeaking tires on cars creating undesirable noise. <br /> <br />MAYOR ASHPACH ask for Council aotion. Mr. Stanley Olmen, road commissioner <br />stated that he was against the lsland, if they have to do something he would <br />favor a depression whioh would slow up traff1c. <br /> <br />MRS. LINDQUIST asked if depressioo would fill with water and freeze in <br />wilriJel' as this wouJ.d slow up the run for the hill up 'Valentine Court that <br />is neoessary. in the winter months. <br /> <br />MAYOR ASHmCH stated that he favOl"s paviog road all the way tlU'Qugnc put 1n <br />minor dip 1f residents want it, use SlgDS to slow down 01' discourago <br />traffic.
