DATE: AUGUST, 1991 <br /> FUNCTIONAL CLASSIFICATION: CLERICAL <br /> POSITION TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY <br /> PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: <br /> To provide confidential administrative secretarial services <br /> to the city Administrator, and clerical support services <br /> for the Park and Recreation Director, and Public Works <br /> Superintendent. <br /> MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: <br /> - Prepares Council and various city committee agendas. <br /> - Compiles and collates materials for Council agenda and <br /> Newsletter packets. <br /> - Compiles, collates, types minutes and distributes <br /> materials for the Finance, Parks & Recreation, Public <br /> Safety/Works, and Human Rights committee meetings. <br /> - Coordinates office routines and prepares and distributes <br /> office materials. <br />. - Maintains official records of the City. <br /> QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> - High school graduate with classes in clerical and office <br /> skills. Proficiency in word processing, with knowledge <br /> of IBM PC and Word Perfect 5.1, Microsoft Word for <br /> Windows, or Multi-Mate programs. <br /> - Post high school secretarial training, with previous <br /> secretarial experience. <br /> - Typing speed of at least 60 wpm. <br /> - Shorthand or equivalent at 80-100 wpm and ability to <br /> transcribe accurately from notes. <br /> SUPERVISION/ACCOUNTABILITY: <br /> This position has general accountability to the city <br /> Administrator. <br /> STAFF AND PUBLIC CONTACT: <br /> Moderate contact with City Councilmembers and extensive contact <br /> with department heads and staff. <br /> Moderate contact with the general public. <br />.
