He added t.hat. t.he <br /> wording for t.he referendum can be changed up until t.he t.ime <br /> t.he ballot.s are print.ed, the proposed wording iC'. <br /> ~ . <br /> "Shall t.he Cit.y of Arden Hills be aut.horized to issue <br /> General Obligat.ion Bonds In an amount not. t.o exceed 2.8 <br /> million dollars for the const.ruction of a new Public <br /> Works/Maintenance Facilit.y?" <br /> Councilmember Mahowald comment.ed t.hat t.he proposed wording <br /> appears to be suit.able. He encouraged a concentrated effort. <br /> t.o communicate to t.he public why the facility is needed. <br /> Council reviewed a list. of possible key contact persons who <br /> may provide input. and/or assist in distributing information <br /> regarding the referendum. Clerk Administrator Person asked <br /> Council t.o provide addit.ions or changes as soon as possible. <br /> Councilmember Mahowald st.ated that a public information <br />. meeting of all key cont.acts, City committees, department <br /> heads and Council needs to take place immediately to discuss <br /> effective means of communicating to the public the need for <br /> this facility. He said it would also be appropriate to <br /> develop a schedule of efforts toward accomplishing that aim. <br /> Mayor Sather announced that a press release has been <br /> prepared for release this week which illustrates the City's <br /> population growth and City Hall growth and provides sound <br /> justification for the facil ity. <br /> MOTION: Malone moved, seconded by Hicks, to authorize the Clerk <br /> Administrator to place the bond referendum, worded as <br /> outlined above, on the November ballot.
