-
4. 1994 Street IIrprovement Projects - The reconstruction is planned for .
A1nble Road, Bussard Court, and Dunlap; .with Keithson Drive cold in place
recycling - see attached Resolution #93-59 for p::lSsible adoption.
5. A discussion item f= Council review is the proposed 1993/94 stann Water
budget. 'Ibis J:udget is in accordance with earlier discussions. It is
anticipated that a 20% reserve balance in the stcmn water utility fund
be maintained as a contingency f= any unanticipated future projects.
Resolution #93-60 has been prepared for p::lSsible adoption.
6. Short Tenn Disability - All of the public works union employees are
requesting an additional $100 weekly short term disability benefit.
'Ibis additional $100 weekly benefit would be paid by the employees at a
rate of $4.50 per month. There is 100% enrollment participation fram
the union group, which is acceptable to the insurance company. A 100%
participation was not received by the non union employees, therefore the
non union group is not eligible to participate.
While it is generally not the best situation to differentiate benefits
between employees, this group has asked to obtain this benefit on a self
pay basis. The other non union employees are not 100% interested and
therefore not eligible.
I would reconnnend that this benefit be exterrled to the union employees
on a self paid basis.
7. Section 125 - See attached meJOC) outlining the findings to reconnnend to .
Council effective 1-1-94 to institute a Section 125 pre tax benefit f=
employees including insurance premiums, child care costs, and out-of-
pocket medical costs, with DCA as a third party administrator.
8. Economic Development Cormnittee - Attached is Resolution #93-61 which
authorizes the =eation of this Cormnittee. The Cormnittee hq)es to be
getting started as soon as possible on an infonnal basis with official
appointments being made in 1994.
other Infornational Items:
1- Attached is a copy of a proposed agenda for the November 18 discussions
with city corrnnittees. Please feel free to make any comments to Dorothy.
This outline will be the basis of discussions for the meeting_
2. With the remodeling of City Hall, the p:>lling location for 1994
elections will need to be addressed. There has been an on;)"oing
discussion as to whether the polling places should continue as is or
whether there should be some changes. since the City Hall will not be
available, a decision needs to be made by mid December by Council
regarding designated polling places. 'Ibis deadline is needed for staff
to report to the County on location designations. Please advise Dorothy
of your thoughts by November 18 so that our infornational gathering
phase is complete and a report and recommendation to Council can be made
by the first part of December. .
