He thought maybe an <br /> in house brochure tailored to the prospective business. <br /> Mr. Fritsinger stated many adjacent communities have put <br /> together brochures to explain what is available for <br /> developers. <br /> Mr. Rye asked if the City could possibly tie in with the <br /> County's effort to establish a GIS network. <br /> Mr. Fritsinger stated he would be concerned about this <br /> effort as the County rarely responds to questions and <br /> requests now. <br /> Chair Winiecki asked, instead of focusing on developing the <br /> roads in the area of Lexington Avenue, should the main <br /> objectiye be to plan for the redevelopment of the property. <br />. Mr. Fritsinger stated this was part of the discussion the <br /> Planning Commission needs to undertake. <br /> Chair Winiecki asked if a staff person should be hired for <br /> this purpose. <br /> Mr. McGraw stated to tear down the existing buildings on <br /> Lexington Ayenue would help to attract more business. <br /> Without the expertise and backing from the City nothing can <br /> be done. No progress will be made unless some action is <br /> taken. The City's property taxes are high because of a loss <br /> of business taxes; this leaves the homeowners picking up the <br /> bill. <br /> Mr. Fritsinger agreed with Mr. McGraw that as a business <br /> leayes the community, the tax burden does shift.
