COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />ORDINANCE CHAPTER 5 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGISTRATION, IDENTIFICATION AND <br />KEEPING OF DOGS AND CATS. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF ARDEN HILLS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 5 -1. OUARANTINE OF BITING ANIMALS. Whenever any dog-<.. <br />cat or animal has bitten any person, the owner or custodian of such <br />dog, cat or animal having been so notified by the police department <br />shall immediately cause the dog, cat or animal to be quarantined at <br />the city pound for a period of ten (10) days after such person has <br />been bitten by said dog. cat or animal. During the quarantine <br />period, said dog, cat or animal shall be kept under observation to <br />determine its condition, and if it is found to be sick or diseased <br />the poundkeeper shall immediately report in writing to the police <br />department the condition of the dog, cat or animal, During the <br />quarantine period, the dog, cat or animal shall not be removed from <br />the designated quarantine facility except by special written permit <br />from the Minnesota Livestock Sanitary Board and the police <br />department. The owner of said dog , cat or animal shall be <br />responsible for the cost of such quarantine. (Ord. No. 198, 13, 6- <br />... 27-77) <br /> <br />SECTION 5-31. DEFINITIONS The following definitions shall be <br />used in the application and interpretation of the provisions of <br />this article: <br />(a) Dog shall mean any species of the Canis genus of animals. <br />(b) Kennel shall mean any establishment where dogs are kept <br />for the purposes of breeding or sale, or sporting <br />purposes. Any person owning, harboring or keeping for <br />pleasure or profit three (3) or more dogs older than <br />six (6) months shall be deemed an operator of a dog <br />kennel. <br />(c) Owner shall mean any person, firm or corporation <br />owning, harboring or keeping a dog.
