I 1'_ ' <br /> . As you know, the purpose of the groundwater extraction system is to prevent <br /> movement of contaminated groundwater off of TCAAP. The extraction system consists of <br /> eight wells which remove contaminated water from the ground and pump the water to a <br /> central control house which allows the water flow and concentrations to be monitored. From <br /> the control house on TCAAP, the water is discharged to a sanitary sewer line. The water <br /> then is discharged into and treated by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission Treatment <br /> Plant in S1.
