ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - SEPTEMBER 12, 1994 8
. 7, 1994. The motion carried unanimously (4-0).
Malone asked the status of reconstructing Cannon A venue.
Winkel stated that Cannon is among the top three or four priority streets for reconstruction work.
If County Road F and Stowe are done, Cannon will not be done next year.
ADMINISTRATOR COMMENTS
There were none.
COUNCIL COMMENTS
Aplikowski noted that Valentine Park looks good. She expressed concern about the ground
leveling and water that is standing. She would like to see it drain before the asphalt is put in.
Otherwise, the water will puddle on the asphalt. Also, she reminded staff to put an outside
electrical outlet on the building.
Hicks asked if there is another way to enter the Freeway Park on County Road E.
. Severtson stated that there is access from the south end on Glen Arden Road.
Mayor Probst asked if it would work to put up volleyball nets when the four hockey rinks at
Freeway Park are not in use.
Severtson stated that there was discussion about paving that area of the park. She did not see
a problem with volleyball nets.
Mayor Probst asked the reason for not allowing parking by Freeway park.
Severtson stated there has not been a need because there is not much use of the upper end of the
park by the playground.
Malone noted the rate raise of 5 % by the Board of Water Commissioners.
Mr. Post stated that the increase is $.05 on the first one million cubic feet of water. Arden Hills
is able to take advantage of Roseville' s wholesale rate, and the increase is less than 5 % .
Malone stated that the Board has hired a full-time public relations person, and he would hate to
see a rate increase pay for that salary. He would also not like to see a metering system that the
Board has proposed.
.
