<br /> City of Arden Hills Chapter 2 Administration <br />. 240.21 Unpaid Leave of Absence. <br /> Subd. 1 Consideration. Upon consideration of a formal written request by an employee, <br /> leave of absence without pay may be granted at the discretion of the Clerk-Administrator with <br /> approval of the City Council based on consideration of the following factors: <br /> A. Municipal service needs; <br /> B. The employee's performance record and length of service; <br />i. C. The reason(s) for the request; <br /> D. Any other relevant information. <br /> Subd. 2 Length and Terms. If granted, unpaid leave of absence may not exceed a period <br /> of ninety (90) continuous calendar days. An extension beyond that period may be granted at <br /> the discretion of the Clerk-Administrator however, an unpaid leave of absence shall not <br /> exceed one (1) calendar year except when the employee is in the military service or has been <br /> disabled while performing job duties in the municipal service. Benefits, including vacation, <br /> holidays, sick leave or other forms of indirect compensation, shall not accrue during a period <br /> of unpaid leave of absence. Employees shall not be credited with service accrual while on <br />. unpaid leave of absence. During the first calendar month or portion thereof during which an <br /> 2 - 63 <br /> ------ <br />
