<br />. <br /> City of Arden Hills Chapter 2 Administration <br />. Subd. 2 Unauthorized Absences. Unauthorized absences from work for a period of three <br /> (3) consecutive workdays shall be considered resignation without proper notice unless <br /> extenuating circumstances preclude the employee from notifying their supervisor. <br /> 240.27 Retirement. The retirement of City employees shall be in accordance with Federal and <br /> State Statutes. <br /> 240.28 Grievance Procedure. <br /> Subd. 1 Policy. It ~(tq~{the policy of the City to prevent the occurrence of grievances <br />. insofar as practicable and to provide an orderly, efficient and timely procedure for dealing <br /> with those which do occur. A grievance is defined as a dispute or disagreement regarding the <br /> interpretation or application of this Chapter. <br /> Subd. 2 Procedure. The procedure established herein shall be followed by an employee in <br /> presenting a grievance to the City. Failure to follow the steps within the stated time limits <br /> may result in a denial of the grievance on procedural grounds: <br /> Step I. An employee claiming a violation concerning the interpretation or application <br /> of this Chapter may, within ten (10) workdays after such alleged violation has occurred, <br /> present the written grievance to the employee's immediate supervisor or department <br />. head. The immediate supervisor shall provide a written response to the grievance within <br /> 2 - 67 <br />
