Brian Fritsinger, Chair, called the meeting to order at <br /> 7:45 a.m. The following members were present: <br /> I - Jerry Bergeron, Commander, Ramsey County Sheriff's Department <br /> - Brian Fritsinger, city of Arden Hills <br /> - Joel Hanson, City of Little Canada <br /> I - Dick Lang, City of North Oaks <br /> - Jan Reagan, White Bear Township <br /> - Terry Schwerm, City of Shoreview <br /> - Bill Short, White Bear Township <br /> I - Jerry Urban, City of Vadnais Heights <br /> Also present: Sheriff Bob Fletcher; Gary Kollman, Public <br /> I Safety Communications Supervisor & Sharon Hughes, Training <br /> Coordinator. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> I The Minutes of January 26, 1995, were approved as submitted. <br /> ., FOURTH OUARTBR CRIME STATISTICS <br /> Bergeron distributed the Fourth Quarter 1994 comparative Crime <br /> statistics Reports for each community. He explained that <br /> . increased vandalism was common in the area. Juvenile crime <br /> prevention was discussed and it was noted that Federal dollars <br /> may be available for this purpose. Bergeron explained that the <br /> I common curfew will be enforced, and that the Ramsey County Sher- <br /> iff's Department intends to conduct "curfew sweeps" in coordina- <br /> tion with other Departments this spring. A fine system for <br /> I juveniles was discussed, noting that it could in some instances, <br /> eliminate going through the courts system. Bergeron will report <br /> back with regard to this idea. <br /> I 'll'EIGHT RESTRICTION TRAINING REPORT = DBPUTY VAUGHN <br /> Deputy Vaughn's report has been rescheduled to the March <br /> . meeting. Urban stated his concern that Deputy Vaughn is not <br /> certified in weight restrictions. Bergeron explained that this <br /> issue will be discussed in detail next month, however, right now <br /> I our resource is the MN State Highway Patrol. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> I Gary Kollman discussed a proposal to convert to an 800 MHz <br /> communications system, a new computerized dispatch system, and <br /> .' consolidation. Initially, the system is proposed for State <br /> Patrol & the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Ramsey <br /> I <br /> ------- <br />
