<br />I DRAFT <br />I. Arden Hills PlanninlZ Minutes PalZe 3 5/03/95 <br />I <br />I Sand inquired if there would be pedestrian traffic allowed to the ball parks. Mr. Bergly believed the <br /> area would be fenced off <br />I Piotrowski inquired about the concrete walks and the proposed slopes. Mr. Bergly indicated the <br /> steepest grade would be 3% and this is a significant reduction from the current walkway system. <br />I Rye inquired who would be responsible for the maintenance of the "Grit Chambers". Mr. Bergly <br /> noted the chambers are on School property and are therefore the responsibility of the School District. <br />I Nelson asked about the length of the first pennit for temporary classrooms, Mr. Fritsinger indicated <br /> the original permit was for five years. <br />I Ms. Jan Witthuhn, Deputy Superintendent of the Mounds View School District, addressed the <br /> Commission. She wished to thank the Commission for their review and expressed encouragement <br /> for the proposed plan. <br />I Mr. John Ostlund, Director of Operations of Mounds View School District, introduced himself. <br />I- Ms. Michelle Brouse, Principle of Valentine Hills Elementary, introduced herself. <br />I Mr. Roy Anderson, Architect for the project, briefly responded to previous questions. <br /> Mr. Anderson indicated that there is no room for a bus to pass behind another in the Southwest area, <br />I this was designed intentionally. This design would prevent any buses from leaving until the first bus <br /> leaves, this addresses safety issues. <br />I Mr. Anderson indicated all excavation will be stored off site. <br /> Mr. Anderson, in response to questions regarding the "Grit Chambers", explained they are buried and <br />I the only exposed portion would be a manhole cover. <br /> Mr. Anderson stated that currently the slopes on some of the walks are as high as 10%, the proposed <br />I walk would be down to I % in some areas. <br /> Mr. Anderson indicated on the two tier wall, there will be a fence on top and on the first tier. there <br />I will be shrubs. <br /> Mr. Anderson noted in regards to the outlot, they are currently working with the City, the City will <br />I have to pass a resolution regarding the conveyance of the land. He noted the only concern the School <br /> District presently has is the time frame, since the construction season will be short due to school <br />I- sesSIOns. <br />I <br />
