site conditions noted below. Our original proposal assumed a 12-week construction schedule. The
contractor's original construction schedule indicated construction would generally run from April
29th, 2024 to June 28th, 2024 (or approximately 9-weeks). We are now approaching the end of the
14t' week of construction and the contractor's updated schedule is tentatively showing work will
be substantially completed by the end of next week (the 15t' week of construction), however,
their schedule has continued to extend slightly the last few weeks.
We are anticipating that our construction services contract budget will be exhausted before the end of this
week. Based on our phone conversation, it was indicated that the city would like to see Bolton & Menk
continue with the same level of effort necessary to properly close out the project as we have been
providing the last number of weeks.
Our original proposal allocated $3,790 for punchlists, final inspections, and project closeout requirements
and an additional $6,197 to complete an as -built survey of new utility structures and drafting of record
drawings. Ensuring we maintain budget for those tasks after substantial completion and adding additional
time for the anticipated construction administration and construction observation efforts to get us to
substantial completion, we are estimating $22,000 in additional fees will be necessary to provide the
requested level of service through project completion. However, the actual time necessary to complete the
project will be dictated by the contractor's schedule for completion and may necessitate an increase or
decrease to that estimate accordingly.
TOTAL ESTIMATED AMENDMENT FEE _ $22,000
We appreciate your trust in us to bring this project through final completion and ensure it is constructed in
accordance with the contract documents. We are grateful for the City of Arden Hills continued support of
our services and allowing us to be a part of these significant improvements for the neighborhood.
Sincerely,
BOLTON & MENK, INC.
Brad Fisher, P.E.
Principal Engineer
This document shall serve as an amendment to the Agreement for Professional Services between the parties,
dated April 10, 2023 (the "Contract"), pursuant to Section 3.A.1 thereof. All other provisions of the Contract
shall remain in full force and effect except as herein modified.
Accepted:
City of Arden Hills
cc: Mike Waltman, P.E., Principal Engineer
H:\ARDH\OT1130168\0_2024 PMP Street & Utility Improvements\A_Project Management\Z_Contracts\Amendments\Amendment 2.2\130168_2024 PMP Street & Utility
Improvements Amendment 2_20240801.docx
Bolton & Menk is an equal 0000rtunity emolover.
