3i1ography <br />Headquarters, 108th Tra40 40 <br />ining Command, <br />Initial Entry Trainingii, Charlotte , NC <br />Lieutenant Colonel James M.01 Keefe <br />Director of Force Management <br />Lieutenant Colonel James O'Keefe became <br />Management for the U.S. Army's 108th <br />an organization of over 7,000 Soldiers, <br />assignment clearly demonstrating trust in his <br />organizations. <br />the Director of Force <br />Training Command, <br />in January 2021. An <br />ability to lead in large <br />Prior to this assignment he served as the Force Management Branch <br />Chief for Combined Security Transition Command -Afghanistan, Kabul. <br />Using the skills he developed over his 24 years of service, he mentored <br />and built a team consisting of 10 NATO countries and the host nation of <br />Afghanistan. His team delivered solutions to extremely complex National <br />level challenges. This remarkable accomplishment was recognized by the <br />Coalition Commanding General and earning him a Defense Meritorious <br />Service Medal, one of the highest medals awarded by NATO. He has <br />deployed four previous times to Afghanistan and Iraq in various positions. <br />Lieutenant Colonel O'Keefe has served in a variety of leadership positions at the tactical, <br />operational, and strategic level. Other Active Duty and Army Reserve duty assignments include <br />Headquarters Department of the Army as a resource documentation Branch Chief at the Pentagon <br />in Washington DC. Operations Officer for the 7th Mission Support Command in Mainz Germany, and <br />as the Commanding Officer o 143 Soldiers during Combat Operations with the rd Infantry Brigade <br />throughout Iraq and Kuwait. <br />Among Lieutenant Colonel O'Keefe's m0 <br />ilitary awards are three Bronze Stars medals, two Defense <br />Meritorious Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, along with various service and <br />campaign medals. <br />Lieutenant Colonel O'Keefe graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from <br />the University of Briar iff, Sioux City, .e received his KAasters Degree in minis tration from <br />Central Michigan University, MT Pleasant, I. He also attended The Command and Generals Staff <br />College, or Leavenworth, KS, the rmyf s premier program o military education for staff officers <br />serving at higher General Officer Level Commands. Additionally he received a certificate of in <br />Business nay ics from the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business . <br />His other military schooling highlights include Infantry Officer Basic course; Maneuver Captains <br />Officer Advanced Course; Force Management Officer Qualification Course; Army Strategic Analyst <br />Course. <br />Most'im ortantly the titles Lieutenant Colonel James O'Keefe is most humbled by are "Dad" to three <br />young men, and Husband to an amazing wife. In those moments of peace, James enjoys losing golf <br />balls while enjoying the company o good friends and family and volunteering with various veterans <br />organizations. <br />
